Between Roots and Innovation: Roberto Orlando’s Exhibition in Alcamo

From April 10 through the end of June 2026, the operational branch of Banca Don Rizzo in Alcamo hosts the work Istruzioni per un’estrazione mucosa by Palermo-born artist Roberto Orlando. The installation is included in the national Futuri Emergenti initiative promoted by Gruppo BCC Iccrea within the BCC Arte&Cultura program.

The artwork explores the connection between humans and nature by reworking traditional practices—such as manna collection and resin processing—into living materials and research tools. Orlando (b. 1996) examines interspecies relations and the interplay between plant and animal worlds, presenting a project developed in notable Italian contexts.

The exhibited piece is a large cotton canvas (180×180 cm) executed in tempera, graphite and vegetable resin: a visually striking work that documents local memory and reinterprets artisanal techniques through contemporary art strategies.
