“Tra derive e movimenti”: Laura Mircea solo show in Reggio Emilia

Galleria Bonioni Arte (Corso Garibaldi, 43) presents Tra derive e movimenti, a solo exhibition by artist Laura Mircea running from 18 April to 31 May 2026. The show includes about twenty wall-mounted works on convex and concave panels, together with several recent sculptures.

Mircea's practice sits between painting and sculpture: surfaces become bodies and materials act as narrative devices. She works with natural and mineral elements — quartz, topaz, hematite, volcanic powders, oxides and verdigris — to create conceptual maps that investigate Earth's transformations, human-nature relations and the invisible networks connecting peoples.

  • Dates: 18 April – 31 May 2026
  • Opening: Saturday 18 April 2026 at 6:00 PM
  • Venue: Galleria Bonioni Arte, Corso Garibaldi 43, Reggio Emilia, Italy
  • Works on view: around twenty panel works and several sculptures from recent production
  • Exhibition catalogue: available at Galleria Bonioni Arte, featuring a critical essay by Fabrizio Guerrini and photographic documentation
  • Promoting gallery network: Vecchiato Arte (Padua); Bonioni Arte (Reggio Emilia); Galleria Arte Vega (Messina); Art Luxury Gallery (Milan); Galleria Lara, Alberto e Rino Costa (Valenza, AL); Matteo Ragni Arte Contemporanea (Forlì)

The project highlights collaborative gallery practices aimed at promoting contemporary artists across multiple Italian venues. Laura Mircea, born in Romania in 1979 and based in San Pier d'Isonzo (GO), has pursued a long-term inquiry into altered geographies and memory, offering a layered visual language that invites viewers to reflect and travel mentally through her maps.
