Sepideh Salehi: "Assemblages" at Galleria Anna Marra

Galleria Anna Marra hosts the first solo exhibition in Italy by Iranian artist Sepideh Salehi. Her practice combines photography, collage, watercolor and frottage on delicate papers to build layered images about personal memory, conflict and the female condition.

In the exhibited works, female figures do not assert themselves with loud gestures: their resilience is expressed through averted gazes, partially hidden faces and surfaces that gather traces of the past. Historical events — such as the revolution and the Iran–Iraq war — are not dramatized but deposited as subtle, overlapping signs.
