Galleria 200C on the Giudecca presents I’m not taking part in it, a site-specific installation by Tim Parchikov curated by Olga Strada. The project gathers eight mirrors with neon text: the reflective surfaces overlay visitors' images with luminous phrases, turning the act of looking into an ethical inquiry about collective responsibility.
The installation consists of eight mirrored panels containing neon statements. The overlap between reflection and text makes neutral observation difficult: visitors' bodies become part of the scene and undermine the title's assertion.
Location: Galleria 200C, Fondamenta San Giacomo 200/C, Giudecca, Venice.
Exhibition dates: from 8 May to 20 September 2026.
Opening hours (please verify): the exhibition press release lists Tuesday–Saturday 11:00–17:00; the gallery's general page indicates a regular opening Thursday–Saturday 11:00–19:00. Some calendar listings note free admission. Check the gallery's updated schedule before planning your visit.
Curated by: Olga Strada.
The work evokes philosophical reflections on collective responsibility and metaphysical guilt: the title phrase (“I’m not taking part in it”) becomes unstable when uttered in front of one's own reflection. In the compact space of Galleria 200C the intimacy of the installation heightens the personal impact and directly confronts visitors with themes of belonging.
