Tempio Pausania has been selected to receive €2.5 million from a national fund aimed at regenerating historic urban centres. The municipal administration views the allocation as a strategic opportunity for restoration and enhancement, while the classification of the town as a "borgo" has triggered debate among residents.
The label refers to technical eligibility criteria rather than the municipality's institutional status: a compact historic centre, a coherent building heritage, and an urban structure similar to traditional Italian borghi. Regional authorities stress that the classification only facilitates access to resources and does not change administrative roles.
