The solo show "Images in Space" presents works where photographic images take on volume and occupy the gallery environment. The exhibition explores the interplay between photography, sculpture and painting, demonstrating how a photograph can acquire physical presence and dialogue with its surroundings.
A public lecture on "three-dimensional photographs" accompanied the exhibition opening, featuring a curator and an art critic in conversation with the artist. The discussion traced the artist’s creative trajectory and placed her photo-sculptures within a wider history of photographic practice that, since the 1970s, has questioned the limits of two-dimensional representation.
Nataly Maier consistently works across media: photography, sculpture and painting overlap and are sometimes revisited over time. Her practice often originates from simple, childlike memories—a candid starting point that she transforms into works which invite viewers to reconnect with personal recollections through tangible images.
The exhibition aims to be accessible: despite conceptual underpinnings, the works seek to engage a broad audience, encouraging personal connections through photographic forms that become sculptural presences.
