Medea: Fragments of Memory by Georgian artist Tamara Kvesitadze occupies Palazzo Bragadin with a site-specific installation that treats memory as an unstable, layered and political process. The project stages tensions between form and dissolution, presence and loss.

Highlights

The exhibition combines material surfaces, kinetic sculptures and an immersive soundscape to unsettle fixed narratives. Key features include:

• Modular urban structures that assemble and disintegrate, questioning permanence.
• Red and blue paper surfaces marked by fractures and accumulations that hold traces rather than depict them.
• Kinetic works such as Reptile and Whirling Woman, introducing circular temporality and corporeal movement.
• Body fragmentation: sequences of female feet and disjointed forms that resist narrative wholeness.
• Sound design: the Medea soundtrack, composed by Stephan Crasneanscki with Simone Merli (Soundwalk Collective), uses radio waves, vocal fragments and recordings from the Black Sea area to expand the installation’s perceptual field.
