Fondazione Musei Senesi has launched an FMS Academy edition dedicated to young graduates under 30. Six candidates were chosen to follow a blended path of classroom training and practical internships within museums of the Siena network, aimed at building operational skills in heritage management and cultural communication.
The initial phase includes one month of multidisciplinary lessons and workshops led by sector experts. Key areas covered are:
Internships begin with a six‑month placement, potentially extendable for another six months. The initiative is funded by the regional FSE+ Toscana 2021–2027 programme under the Giovanisì project, in collaboration with local authorities and territorial partners.
Main participating institutions include: Museo Civico di Siena; Museo Civico per la Preistoria del Monte Cetona (Cetona); Pinacoteca Crociani (Montepulciano); Museo del Paesaggio (Castelnuovo Berardenga); Museo Civico Archeologico e della Collegiata (Casole d'Elsa).
The FMS Academy supports young professionals entering the cultural heritage sector by combining conservation and communication skills with hands‑on experience. It also strengthens cooperation among local museums, encouraging skill‑sharing and joint programming.
