Shepard Fairey (OBEY) in Naples: "Power to the peaceful"

Dates: May 6 — September 6, 2026

The Gallerie d'Italia in Naples presents "Power to the peaceful", a solo exhibition dedicated to Shepard Fairey, known as OBEY. Following a preview on May 5, the show opens to the public with a selection of works that connect street graphic language to contemporary issues such as political messaging, social justice and environmental concerns.

Curated by Giuseppe Pizzuto in collaboration with Wunderkammern gallery, the exhibition includes more than one hundred pieces — unique works, screenprints and unconventional media — arranged to create a dialogue between Fairey's visual impact and the city's cultural energy.

Highlights

  • Over 100 works including posters, serigraphs and hand-finished prints (HPM).
  • Sections tracing the artist's journey from skate culture to museum-scale presentations.
  • Installations examining the interplay of power, media and public consent.
  • Works addressing peace movements and environmental activism.

Why go

This exhibition shows how a visual language born on the street can evolve into a powerful tool for critique and civic engagement. Fairey's bold graphics and historical references encourage visitors to consider art's role in public discourse.
