"Health on the Move": free screenings in the outskirts of Messina

From 12 April to 5 July 2026 Gruppo Caronte & Tourist, in collaboration with the Italian Red Cross, launches Health on the Move, a series of community outreach days delivering free medical checks in peripheral areas. Mobile Red Cross units staffed by volunteer clinicians will visit local villages to offer first-access consultations.

The initiative is part of the group's 60th anniversary activities and aims to bring preventive care closer to people living in socially fragile conditions across Messina’s northern and southern outskirts.

• First stop: 12 April 2026, Church of Mili San Marco (serving Mili Marina, Mili San Pietro, Mili Moleti) — specialists available in the square from 9:00 to 13:00.
• Second stop: 19 April 2026, northern outskirts (near the church of Curcuraci) covering nearby areas such as Marotta, Faro Superiore, Massa San Nicola, Massa Santa Lucia, Massa San Giorgio, Massa San Giovanni and Castanea.
• Other confirmed dates: 10 and 24 May 2026; 14 and 28 June 2026; 5 July 2026 — with stops planned in Villaggio C.E.P., Giostra, Giampilieri, Ganzirri and Camaro San Paolo.

Volunteer professionals will provide examinations including endocrinology, dermatology, cardiology, ENT, ophthalmology, speech therapy and nutritional counselling. Local parishes will support logistics by making church-adjacent spaces available for patient reception.

All services are free of charge. Updates and precise schedules for each session will be published on Gruppo Caronte & Tourist’s official channels and communicated locally.
