Turin Book Fair 2026: Friuli Venezia Giulia spotlights 'border culture'

Deputy governor Mario Anzil inaugurated the series of events hosted at the Friuli Venezia Giulia regional stand in the Oval pavilion during the 38th Turin Book Fair.

Over the four days the regional space presents a programme focused on local publishing and the territory's cultural identities: "border culture is a strategic mission for the Region," Anzil said, highlighting FVG's role as a cultural meeting point.

  • Dates: 14–17 May 2026
  • Scheduled events: 32 meetings
  • Participants: more than 70 authors, artists, essayists, poets and journalists
  • Regional stand: 280 m², sustainably built using wood from storm-damaged forests

The stand showcases local publishers and institutions and highlights upcoming regional cultural milestones, from the transborder European Capital of Culture GO! 2025 (Nova Gorica–Gorizia) to Pordenone as Italy's Capital of Culture 2027. Programme highlights include poetry sessions and a preview of the graphic novel Mi fai volare, scheduled tomorrow at 14:00.

FVG's presence underlines the Region's aim to strengthen interregional collaboration to support shared editorial and cultural initiatives while respecting local histories and identities.
