Cities and municipalities take centre stage at the Turin Book Fair

Every spring the Turin International Book Fair turns Turin into Italy's publishing hub. Alongside the main event at Lingotto, the Salone OFF extends programming across the territory, bringing talks and readings to libraries, schools, theatres and public venues.

  • Moncalieri, Pinerolo, Rivoli and Settimo Torinese: active centres hosting author events, workshops and school programmes.
  • Other suburban municipalities (Nichelino, Orbassano, Collegno, Venaria Reale, Chivasso) organise activities for all ages.
  • Pianezza: an example of local civic engagement with initiatives promoted by the Association INSIEME Cambiamo PIANEZZA.

The strength of Salone OFF is its ability to bring reading to citizens and to enhance local cultural spaces, fostering dialogue among administrations, schools and associations. The fair also generates economic and cultural benefits for the area, supporting libraries and reading promotion networks.

Beyond Piedmont, national institutions, publishers and municipalities — including Rome, Milan, Bologna, Naples and Florence — participate, making the Book Fair a platform for sharing ideas and best practices in promoting books and reading.
