Wheels in History: historic cars and monument visits in Vigonovo

On 17 May 2026 the Wheels in History event, organised by Automobile Club Venezia and listed by ACI Storico, combined historic motoring with visits to notable monuments along the Riviera del Brenta.

Starting from Forte Marghera in Mestre, participants travelled a scenic route between the Brenta and the Naviglio, arriving in Vigonovo for guided tours of the town's principal historic sites.

• Number of crews: 19 historic vehicles
• Notable models: Fiat 508 Balilla, Fiat 124 Sport Spider, Fiat 1100, Morgan 4/4 1600, Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV6, Triumph, MG C and a rare Panhard PL17 Rail Max
• Monument stops in Vigonovo: Santa Maria Assunta church, the palace housing the town hall, and Villa Sagredo with its historic park

Guided by the local Pro Loco and welcomed by the Mayor, participants enjoyed a buffet lunch at Villa Sagredo followed by the presentation of commemorative plaques, in a setting that celebrated both architectural heritage and automotive culture.

The ACI format showcases an integrated model of territorial promotion that links historic vehicles with the valorisation of monument sites, artistic landmarks and local traditions.
