This monographic exhibition highlights Romano Dazzi's central practice of drawing (Rome, 1905 – Florence, 1976), presenting a focused selection of works and archival documents that trace the artist's themes and techniques through his career.
Son of sculptor Arturo Dazzi, Romano showed artistic precocity and developed a distinctive draughtsmanship noted for clarity and observation. A 1923 trip to Libya and later experiments in fresco, engraving and ceramics broadened his practice, though drawing remained his main medium. After World War II he increasingly withdrew from public artistic life.
The exhibition displays 50 drawings from the Archivio Dazzi in San Marcello (PT), many shown to the public for the first time, alongside three vases produced by the Florentine Cantagalli workshop and a substantial documentary section including photographs, notebooks, letters and catalogues.
