Rome Gallery Weekend 2026: "Contemporanea" and gallery itineraries

When: 15–17 May 2026 (Gallery Night: 14 May)

The fourth edition of the Rome Gallery Weekend, named "Contemporanea", connected 32 private galleries across the city with exhibitions, special openings and collateral events. The program highlights contemporary practices from photography and painting to installations and site-specific projects.

Featured galleries and projects

  • Galleria Continua (St. Regis venue): installation by Carlos Garaicoa engaging with architecture and urban memory.
  • Gagosian: a photography show dedicated to Francesca Woodman with rare and previously unseen works.
  • Tornabuoni Arte: the "Passo a due" project linking letters and historical works from the gallery.
  • Spazio Nuovo: Rubén Rodrigo's first solo show in Italy, featuring large-scale oil paintings.
  • Antonacci Lapiccirella: a dialogue between Piranesi's Vedute and contemporary photographs.
