The Galleria Civica d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea (GAM) in Turin presents Fourth Resonance, a series that highlights drawing and paper as practices of artistic research, experimentation and memory. The program brings together four projects conceived in relation to the museum’s collections, outlining a route from the 20th century to contemporary practices, including site-specific interventions and photographic sections.
Fourth Resonance reveals the creative process in its most intimate dimension: paper becomes a laboratory where drawing shows immediate qualities and materials narrate artist choices. The selection documents stylistic developments from early 20th century to the avant-gardes of the 1990s, with specific sections highlighting photography as a research and documentary medium.
Visitor tip: focus on works on paper to appreciate the relationship between mark-making, material and creative process; photographic sections provide additional interpretive layers on image and historical documentation.
