Primi dei Primi is a festival focused on first courses and the pasta supply chain, bringing together culture, history and food across Sansepolcro for a weekend. The programme highlights local heritage, artisan shops and producers from the Valtiberina valley.

Main programme

• Historical exhibition at Palazzo Alberti: archival materials, photographs and testimonies on the role of women in the town's historic pasta factory.
• Masterclasses and lessons: sessions on pasta-making techniques and pairings; places are limited and advance booking is recommended.
• Pasta Street Chef Experience (Piazza Torre di Berta): Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 May, 11:30–15:30 and 18:00–23:00 (Sunday until 21:00). Entry €30 for five tastings and drinks included.
• Chefs and awards: thirty professionals from haute cuisine, pastry and gelato; the "Primi dei Primi" prize is awarded to notable figures in Italian cuisine.
• Distributed events: gala dinners, wine-pasta pairings, the midnight spaghettata on 2 May and an amateur "Pasta Chef" competition.
• Local pasta shops: pasta makers and small pastifici will be present in the historic centre for sales and demonstrations.
