From 13 May to 16 June 2026, Galleria 10·Corso·Como hosts Untitled, a project produced in collaboration with Galleria Fumagalli that pays tribute to Jannis Kounellis, a leading figure of Arte Povera. The gallery’s white space becomes a minimalist stage inviting visitors to observe and reflect.
The centerpiece, created by the artist in 2009, is a large installation made of seventy black coats arranged as stains and traces of past lives. These garments carry material and symbolic memory, acting as signs of absence and presence—more than clothing, they are witnesses to individual and collective stories.
The arrangement of the coats echoes recurring themes in Kounellis’s work: the centrality of the human being, travel, vulnerability and social memory. Installed in a repurposed industrial space, the work connects literary and cinematic references and prompts reflection on migration and mobility in today’s world.
Jannis Kounellis (1936–2017) was born in Piraeus and moved to Rome in 1956. Considered a pivotal figure in contemporary art, he expanded painterly language by incorporating everyday materials—iron, coal, jute, wax, coffee grounds—to address human existence and social conflict through theatrical installations and works situated in unconventional spaces.
Recommended for those interested in Arte Povera, conceptual installations and projects that bridge personal memory and social issues. 10·Corso·Como’s setting enhances the dialogue between art, fashion and visual culture, offering a contemplative and critical experience.
