Spring in the Villages: special visits to minor monuments

An initiative to highlight local historic heritage: exceptional openings and guided tours in villages and hamlets to bring attention to monuments, churches and sites that are often closed to the public.

Highlighted routes

  • Santo Stefano del Sole (AV): meeting point at Piazza del Sole for a visit to the Belvedere della Gentilezza and a walk through the historic Castelluccio quarter. The route includes explanations of the Samnite settlement remains, the ancient washhouse and the Urciuoli Springs linked to an Augustan-era aqueduct.
  • Cava de' Tirreni (SA): an urban trekking in the Scacciaventi hamlet, famous for its porticoed street. The guide will explore architectural layers and the social role of arcades in village life.
  • Alife (CE): stop in the San Michele hamlet with a focus on local churches, the plaster statue of Saint Michael, and conservation measures that have protected the religious-artistic heritage.
