Spring of the Oases at Calanchi di Atri: three days to reconnect with nature

The Regional Nature Reserve of the Calanchi di Atri takes part in WWF’s Spring of the Oases with a programme of free activities aimed at promoting the local natural heritage. Events run from 20 to 22 May 2026 and are open to schools, families and visitors.

Key programme highlights

• 20 May, 09:00 – Kick-off with World Bee Day: educational activities for schools organized by the Associazione Dimensione Volontario, including visits to the reserve’s apiary.
• 22 May, from 15:30 – International Day for Biological Diversity: a guided walk through the calanchi landscape led by faunist Andrea Gallizia (Center for Studies in Ecology and Apennine Biodiversity) to learn about local species and conservation practices.
• Throughout the three days there will be family-friendly workshops and children’s activities, including planting sessions and quiet readings.
