Porchettiamo in Todi: porchetta as cultural heritage of the town

From 22 to 24 May 2026, Todi's historic centre becomes a stage for taste with the 16th edition of Porchettiamo, the festival celebrating artisanal porchetta. The event combines tastings, show cooking, music and cultural initiatives aimed at enhancing local territory and traditions.

The heart of the festival will be Piazza del Popolo, set up as the "Piazza delle Porchette", where master porchetta makers from various regions will showcase techniques and regional flavours. Alongside traditional stalls, you will find contemporary offerings such as gourmet sandwiches, gluten-free options and an artisanal beer selection.

Highlights and experiences

  • Guided tastings featuring Umbrian specialties and regional porchetta variations.
  • Show cooking with guest chefs presenting innovative pairings and recipes.
  • Wine cellar under the Voltoni: a curated route with about 30 selected wineries to explore local wines.
  • Porchettiamo & Friends at Parco della Rocca Beverly Pepper: street food area, cocktails, live music and family-friendly zones.
  • Town activities: guided tours, urban hikes, bike routes and thematic itineraries on local history and traditions.

Practical tips for visitors

  • Schedule: check the official programme for precise times and locations, as many activities take place in outdoor squares.
  • Best times: to avoid crowds and enjoy tastings and workshops, consider visiting in the morning or early afternoon.
  • Getting there: Todi is accessible by car; consider peripheral parking and shuttle services if available. For updates, consult the Municipality or organisers.
  • Accessibility: the historic centre has traditional paving; visitors with specific needs should verify access points and facilities on event channels.
  • Pairings: use the wine cellar offer to explore matches between porchetta and Umbrian wines such as Grechetto and regional reds.

Porchettiamo in Todi is more than a street food festival: it is an opportunity to discover the town, meet local producers and learn how food, landscape and memory intertwine. The event highlights the role of traditional products in the cultural identity of Italian communities.
