Trained at the Institut Saint-Luc in Brussels and active between Paris and Italy, Macola has established himself in contemporary author comics and collaborates with international publishers. He also works as an illustrator for major publishers and newspapers.

The exhibition examines the dialogue between documentation, lived experience and imagination, focusing on recurring themes such as memory, identity and marginality. Highlights include:

  • Le Tirailleur (2014) — reflections on postcolonial memory;
  • Gli indesiderati (2019) — stories set along the Po River;
  • Lagune (2023) — a Venetian dystopia;
  • La Vallée heureuse (2026) — shown as an exclusive preview while still in progress;
  • A selection of illustrations produced between 2015 and 2025.

Attend the exhibition to see the author's creative process up close: original plates, sketches and preparatory material that reveal how works move between reality and fiction.
