Picnic in the Park: Parco Caracalla opens on May 1

Where: Parco Caracalla, Viale Guido Baccelli 71, Rome

When: May 1, 2026 — free-entry donations accepted. Opening from 11:30 AM.

The new Parco Caracalla debuts with a public day designed to enjoy nature in the city: picnic areas on the lawn, live music, comedy shows, cultural talks and street food. The aim is to turn the park into a social hub that combines relaxation, entertainment and cultural exchange.

Program at a glance

• 11:30 AM — park and picnic areas open;
• 12:30 PM — talk with photographer Albena Nikolova presented by Edicola Emporio;
• 2:00–5:00 PM — Geppo Show and live comedy with guests including Marco Baldini, Gianluca Giugliarelli and Dani Bra;
• 6:00 PM — main concert “GRA” featuring classic and contemporary Roman songwriters;
• From 7:30 PM — DJ set until closing, alongside street food and natural wines;
• Hippie Market — curated stalls with handmade, vintage and independent design.

Food & picnic area

There will be picnic baskets available and a selection of food-truck partners serving outdoor-friendly dishes, from pizza to grilled meats and fermented specialties. Participating vendors include 180 Grammi Pizzeria, Kebhouze, Ape Magna, Fermenteria, and Parrot Meat House & Grill.

• Bring a blanket or picnic mat and wear comfortable clothes;
• Respect the green areas and use the provided waste bins;
• Arrive early to secure a spot and attend the morning talk;
