April 25 outdoors: Uisp initiatives for memory, sport and community

To mark Liberation Day, Uisp organizes a range of outdoor activities across Italy aimed at broad participation: community bike rides, city walks, running events on natural routes and gatherings that combine physical activity with civic remembrance.

• Rome (April 25-26, 2026): alongside athletic meetings, outdoor events linked to remembrance take place in the city; check local schedules for routes and times.
• Siena: on Friday April 24 the Traversata della Città – Coppa della Liberazione offers a 1,715 m non-competitive city walk/run through the historic center; on April 25 there are also community rides and open activities.
• Sesto Fiorentino (FI): the Trofeo Oliviero Frosali includes a 14 km competitive route and a 5 km leisure walk, suitable for those seeking an outdoor run or brisk walk.
• Bologna: the Camminata della Resistenza proposes walks of 15, 9 and 4 km for families and groups.
• Ravenna and Messina: open bike rides (Liberation Ride / Pedalata Resistente) designed to involve families, young people and cycling enthusiasts.

Practical tips: wear weather-appropriate clothing, bring water and snacks, and verify meeting points and any required registrations. Most events are free or low-cost and suitable for various fitness levels.
