Celebrate Easter Monday with an outdoor experience in the Vesuvius National Park. The eco-hike returns with guided walks through woodland, volcanic features and sweeping views over the Bay of Naples, suitable for most participants including families.

Practical information

  • Date: 6 April 2026
  • Departures: morning at 10:00 (return approx. 13:00) and afternoon at 15:00 (return approx. 18:00)
  • Price: €20 adults, €10 children and youths up to 16 years
  • Booking: mandatory via the organiser's website: https://vesuvionatura.it/pasquetta-sul-vesuvio
  • Included: parking and access to the operational base with facilities (toilet, information point, small mineralogical display and shop)

The route

The hike follows the Alto Tirone Forest Reserve (Trail no. 4), one of Vesuvius's greenest tracks. The route is easy and suitable for children from about 8 years old.

  • Difficulty: easy
  • Length: approx. 4 km round trip
  • Elevation gain: 80 metres
  • Maximum altitude: 625 m above sea level
  • Duration: around 3 hours return

What to expect

The trail crosses the Piano delle Ginestre and alternates shaded woodland sections with panoramic openings offering views of the volcano's main cone and the Bay of Naples. Along the way you will see volcanic formations and pioneer species that illustrate natural recovery processes and the area's biodiversity.

Tips for participants

  • Wear sturdy closed shoes or hiking boots
  • Bring water, snacks and layered clothing
  • Use sunscreen and a hat for exposed sections
  • Respect park rules: no fires, no plant collection, no disturbance of wildlife
  • Follow the guide's instructions and stay with the group

Organisation

The walk is organised by local associations focused on nature education and sustainable outdoor activities. Certified naturalist and hiking guides will lead the groups and provide insights into the area's flora, fauna and geology.
