Parthenope: The Siren and the City

From 3 April to 6 July 2026 the National Archaeological Museum of Naples presents "Parthenope: The Siren and the City", an exhibition that brings together myth, archaeological finds and contemporary expressions to show how the image of the siren Partenope evolved over time.

What the exhibition includes

  • More than 250 works from Italian and international museums.
  • Archaeological finds dating back to the 8th century BC: ceramics, sculptural fragments and everyday objects.
  • Paintings and sculptures documenting the iconographic transformation of the siren.
  • Multimedia installations and audiovisual content for immersive experiences.
  • Contemporary pieces and street art interventions that reinterpret the myth in an urban key.

Why visit

The exhibition is designed for those who want to explore Naples' mythological roots and follow the siren Partenope's visual fortune from ancient Greece to modern popular culture.
