From myth to city: The National Archaeological Museum of Naples presents an exhibition exploring the figure of Parthenope across centuries of history, visual culture and social meaning. The show combines archaeological finds, artworks and contemporary proposals to illustrate how the myth has helped shape Naples’ identity.
Dates: 3 April - 6 July 2026. Opening hours: 9:00 - 19:30 (closed Tuesdays). Admission: included in the museum ticket, no additional fee for the exhibition.
This exhibition goes beyond objects in showcases: it connects myth and urban history to reveal how Parthenope has influenced local imagination and artistic practice. Seeing ancient masterpieces alongside modern reinterpretations offers a renewed perspective on the myth’s relevance today.
