Between September and October 2026 BPER plans to open a new gallery inside Palazzo Barbantini‑Koch, the former historic headquarters of the savings bank on Corso Giovecca. The initiative is part of the BPER Cultural Hubs project, linking historic sites in Modena, Ferrara and L'Aquila to promote the bank's art collection.
Renovation works are nearing completion and installation of the displays will begin in the coming weeks. The gallery will include spaces for a permanent collection and a wing for temporary exhibitions and events, showcasing select highlights from the holdings.
The exhibition path will focus on Ferrarese and Emilian painting from the Renaissance to the twentieth century, drawing from BPER's extensive collection. The bank's holdings currently include around 2,500 works of notable historical and artistic value, already presented in several shows and venues managed by the group.
The aim is not only to preserve the collection but to make it an active cultural resource for local communities, fostering conversations and public initiatives. The official inauguration date and the detailed events programme will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Practical tip: visitors interested in opening events and guided tours should monitor the Galleria BPER website and the bank's official channels for updates on schedules, ticketing and guided visits once published.
