The 6th stage of the 109th Giro d’Italia runs from Paestum to Naples, highlighting the Paestum archaeological area—one of the most important remnants of Magna Graecia in Campania. The 141 km course crosses agricultural landscapes, coastal stretches and historic centres before finishing at Piazza del Plebiscito in Naples.
Event date: 14 May 2026. Start scheduled in the early afternoon (from 13:50 according to the sporting programme).
This stage spotlights the Paestum archaeological area, home to well-preserved Doric temples and the remains of ancient Poseidonia. Sporting events like the Giro increase attention on cultural assets and can boost visitor interest in local history and archaeology.
The stage is promoted by the Metropolitan City of Naples and the Campania Region to enhance Paestum and the Salerno area. The race’s media exposure offers a chance to showcase local archaeological sites to national and international audiences.
Practical note: for detailed information on schedules, traffic restrictions and services related to the stage, consult the event organisers’ and local authorities’ official channels.
