From 24 to 26 April 2026, San Quirico d’Orcia will host the 15th edition of the Orcia Wine Festival. Organized by the Municipality of San Quirico d’Orcia together with the Consorzio del Vino Orcia, the festival aims to promote local wine production alongside the cultural and landscape heritage included in the UNESCO list.
Palazzo Chigi Zondadari will serve as the main hub, with tasting stations and technical tastings focused on Orcia DOC wines. The official opening is set for Friday 24 April at 16:30 in the square of Bagno Vignoni, around the historic thermal pool.
The three-day programme targets both enthusiasts and visitors, offering a range of activities:
The festival is presented as an opportunity to strengthen territorial identity and the local food chain. Marco Bartoli, mayor of San Quirico d’Orcia, highlights the role of the event in promoting the area’s landscape and wine heritage; Giulitta Zamperini, president of the Consorzio del Vino Orcia, stresses that the festival fosters meetings and sharing among producers and the public.
The Orcia DOC denomination, established in 2000, covers municipalities south of Siena and currently records about 153 hectares of declared vineyards, an average annual production of roughly 250,000 bottles, and around sixty producing estates, with more than 30 companies in the protection consortium.
The Orcia Wine Festival remains a key spring event to showcase the wines, flavours and landscapes of Val d’Orcia, while offering cultural and experiential routes for a wide audience.
