Ministry of Culture releases €409,000 for Spoleto and Umbria Jazz

The Ministry of Culture has approved the restoration of funds totaling €409,000 for two major cultural events in Umbria. The announcement was made by Senator Franco Zaffini, who thanked Minister Alessandro Giuli for the decision.

• €280,000 for the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto;
• €129,000 for Umbria Jazz in Perugia.

The statement explains that the initial cuts were related to cash management needs at the Ministry of Economy. Zaffini notes that the restored funds add to other amendments he sponsored, bringing the total support for the two events this year to more than €1.7 million.

The release also references the presentation of the program for the 69th edition of the Festival dei Due Mondi, scheduled in Umbria from 26 June to 12 July 2026, with new artistic director Daniele Cipriani. The funding restoration is framed as a measure to support cultural quality and the region's tourism appeal.
