Italian Book Capital 2027: Grottammare among 31 candidates

Thirty-one applications have been submitted to the Ministry of Culture for the Italian Book Capital 2027, including seven aggregated projects that involve a total of 92 municipalities. The Marche town of Grottammare is among the contenders with the proposal “La metamorfosi del leggere: how books change our lives”.

The city's dossier emphasizes turning reading into a shared, participatory experience able to influence social relationships and perceptions of the world through meetings, workshops and widespread local initiatives.

A five-member jury will evaluate the dossiers to determine the finalists and the winning entry, which will receive funding to implement a broad program of reading-promoting activities across the territory.
