To mark the 103rd anniversary of the Air Force, the historic Palace of the Command Schools / 3rd Air Region in Bari will open to visitors on Saturday 28 March 2026 and Sunday 29 March 2026. Admission is free but requires prior registration.
The guided visit, led by Air Force staff, blends history, culture and architecture. The palace is an important example of Bari's rationalist architecture from the 1930s and preserves furnishings, painted panels and documents that trace the development of military aviation and its ties to the local area.
Opening hours: 09:00–19:00 (last group departs at 18:30) on both days.
Location: Via Lungomare Nazario Sauro, 39 – Bari (Italy).
How to book: admission is free but registration must be completed online by Thursday 26 March 2026 at 12:00. After registering you will receive a QR code (downloadable or printable) that must be shown at the entrance to access the palace.
Charity initiative: the open day will host the solidarity project "A gift from the sky" to raise funds for pediatric medical equipment for hospitals including the Giovanni XXIII Pediatric Hospital in Bari.
Practical tips: bring a valid ID, arrive a few minutes before the scheduled time shown on your QR code and follow staff directions during the visit. The event is suitable for those interested in history, architecture and aeronautical culture.
