Over 400 museums free on April 25: Colosseum, Uffizi, Brera and Gallerie d'Italia

On April 25, 2026 more than 400 state museums and archaeological sites throughout Italy will offer free admission to mark Liberation Day. This free-access day is one of the annual initiatives promoted by the Ministry of Culture.

Main sites included

• Rome: Colosseum, Pantheon, Castel Sant'Angelo, Galleria Borghese and the Ostia Antica archaeological park.
• Florence: Uffizi Galleries and the Accademia Gallery.
• Venice: Palazzo Grimani and the Accademia Gallery.
• Milan: Pinacoteca di Brera and the Last Supper (Cenacolo Vinciano).

Gallerie d'Italia: the Milan, Naples, Turin and Vicenza venues join the initiative with free access to their collections and running exhibitions. Highlighted exhibitions include:

• Milan – photographic exhibition "The Road to Cortina. VII Winter Olympic Games 1956".
• Naples – "VORTICI. Alexi Worth in dialogue with ancient ceramics".
• Turin – "Nick Brandt. The Day May Break" and "Diana Markosian. Replaced".
• Vicenza – "CERAMICHE E NUVOLE", extended until 7 June 2026.
