New Perspectives: Donations Marazzi, Ruggeri, Vasta

The Museo Civico di Crema presents an exhibition of recent acquisitions that enrich the civic collections and the pinacoteca. “New Perspectives” gathers works and objects donated by private individuals, offering a concise and accessible display that highlights historical, technical and local storytelling values.

Donations expand the public heritage: privately held items entrusted to the Museum become shared resources for research, exhibitions and cultural activities open to the community.

  • Historic painting: the addition of a Salomon Adler self-portrait (oil on canvas, c. 1680–1690), showing the artist in orientalized costume while at work.
  • 20th-century art: six paintings by Elia Ruggeri (1951–1988) that strengthen the museum’s modern collection with portraits, landscapes and still lifes.
  • Visual technology: a substantial selection of photographic and small‑format cinema cameras, projectors and accessories donated by Angelo Vasta, documenting the development of analogue capture and projection techniques.
  • 19th-century works on paper: two watercolours by Eugenio Giuseppe Conti (portraits of his daughters Clorinda and Noemi, 1896), which complement works already on display in the permanent route.

The exhibition serves as an introductory stage of a broader curatorial plan: selected items invite visitors to discover different angles of the collection and anticipate further specialist studies and displays.
