The exhibition "In hoc Signo"
Coinciding with the Night of Museums, the castle's first-floor papal apartments host the exhibition In hoc Signo. Christian testimonies between Ostia and Portus. Open from 21 May until 21 November 2026, the show has been organised by the Archaeological Park's director together with a specialised curatorial team.
The display highlights lesser-known finds, some on public display for the first time, that document the spread of Christianity from late antiquity into the early Middle Ages in the Ostia and Portus area: oil lamps bearing Christian symbols, rings, domestic objects, marble fragments and significant architectural evidence.
