European Night of Museums: special openings in Barletta

On Saturday 23 May Barletta takes part in the European Night of Museums, offering evening access to its cultural sites so residents and visitors can explore local heritage outside normal hours.

The program runs from 20:00 to 23:00 with a symbolic admission fee of €1. Open venues include the Castle, the Civic Museum and the "Giuseppe De Nittis" Art Gallery at Palazzo Della Marra.

• Castle: visit the Civic Museum featuring the Ancient Gallery, the 19th–20th Century Gallery, the Cafiero Gallery and the Lapidarium.
• "Giuseppe De Nittis" Art Gallery (Palazzo Della Marra): access to the permanent collection of the local painter and to the temporary exhibition "Guardians of Art: from the Monuments Men to the Carabinieri's cultural heritage mission", with about 20 works focusing on art recovery operations.
• "Loffredo" Library: guided visits to the newly set up "Bibliofarmacia Letteraria: books that heal the soul", an initiative that uses reading as a tool for emotional and social wellbeing.

The municipal administration encourages everyone, especially families and young people, to take part: the initiative aims to reaffirm culture as a driving force for the territory and to promote shared access to historical sites.
