European Night of Museums 2026: Sapienza opens 17 venues in Rome on May 23
Sapienza University of Rome will participate in the European Night of Museums on 23 May 2026 by opening 17 of its museum venues to the public. The program includes permanent and temporary exhibitions, live performances, concerts, seminars and educational activities designed for all ages.
- Museum of Etruscan and Italic Antiquities – opening of the exhibition "Etruscan Blue, Etruscan Gold" at 18:00 and an evening performance-concert.
- Museum of Classical Art – exhibition "La calma assente. Peace and war in ancient Greece" and a concert by the MuSa Blues ensemble from 20:00.
- Museum Laboratory of Contemporary Art (MLAC) – retrospective on Alì Assaf with a curator-led tour and documentary screening.
- Museum of the History of Medicine – interactive exhibition "Algorithms on the ward. From scalpel to machine learning" with live demonstrations.
- Physics Museum – thematic route "Paths of peace" highlighting physicists' role in international cooperation.
- Other participating venues: Museum of Origins, Zoology Museum, Herbarium Museum, MUST (University Museum of Earth Sciences) and the Giuseppe Sergi Museum of Anthropology.
Family activities: museums focused on children and natural sciences will run hands-on workshops, treasure hunts and herbarium and cast-making activities to engage young visitors with art, science and conservation.
