From 14 March to 1 November 2026 the Museo Bailo presents a monographic exhibition dedicated to Nino Springolo, an essential yet often overlooked figure of early 20th-century Venetian painting. The show brings together about one hundred works from public and private collections, highlighting the consistency of an art practice resistant to easy classification.
The exhibition offers a thematic route that traces Springolo's stylistic evolution: from divisionist experiments to post-impressionist and Cézanne-inspired lessons, arriving at his most personal late works. The display emphasizes the meditative quality of his painting, the structural role of drawing in his portraits, and his attention to light and color in still lifes and landscapes.
The exhibition is curated by Fabrizio Malachin and organized by the Civic Museums of the Municipality of Treviso, with support from local institutions and partners. It is part of the Museo Bailo’s program to promote and re-evaluate the city's artistic heritage.
The exhibition is a valuable opportunity to rediscover an artist who developed a distinctive, introspective practice—filtered through influences but always personally reinterpreted. Recommended for visitors interested in 20th-century Venetian painting and the connections between place and image.
