MUVEC – House of Contemporaneity: a new contemporary art museum in Mestre

On 25 April 2026 the MUVEC – House of Contemporaneity opens in Mestre, hosted in the renovated Centro Culturale Candiani. The museum reorganizes exhibition routes across two floors, combining a permanent collection with spaces for temporary exhibitions and cultural projects.

Thematic displays begin from the post-war period (1948) and follow three interpretative lines — Reconstruction, Construction and Deconstruction — to connect the international artistic context of the late twentieth century with the creative practices of the Venetian mainland.
