Selinunte Archaeological Park: free entry and guided visits

Selinunte Archaeological Park, located in Castelvetrano (TP), opens its areas to the public across two consecutive weekends: 25–26 April and 2–3 May 2026. These days feature free admission and a programme of guided archaeological tours, bicycle routes and, for the first time at the site, the SELÌBRIA book fair held for World Book Day.

Key programme highlights

  • 25 April: stands from Sicilian publishers; bike tours of the park and displays by sculptor Stefano Bombardieri; guided tours by CoopCulture: "Selinunte highlights" at 10:30 (Eastern Hill, Baglio Florio and Acropolis with eco-shuttles) and a temples walk at 11:30 with access to the antiquarium.
  • 26 April: archaeologist-led visits to the Eastern Hill at 10:30 and 11:45 focusing on quarrying, construction techniques and the placement of stone blocks.
  • 2 May: special visit to the fortified walls of the Acropolis at 10:30, including accessible passages and tunnels.
  • 3 May: in addition to the "Selinunte highlights" tour at 10:30, a visit to the fortified walls is scheduled at 11:30, featuring entry into secret passages and observation of defensive slits.

How to take part

Visits and activities are organised in collaboration with CoopCulture. For full details on meeting points, precise schedules and reservations consult CoopCulture's official website.

The Archeopass — a combined ticket for Selinunte and Segesta — is available and in 2026 offers reductions for certain museums and exhibition spaces linked to regional cultural programming.
