The International Accordion Museum in Castelfidardo, in the Marche region, is much more than a collection of musical instruments — it is the beating heart of a city that, thanks to the accordion, has built its identity and success. Located in a former 17th-century convent, this museum celebrates the incredible history and evolution of one of the world’s most beloved instruments.
A collection that tells a story
The museum houses an extraordinary collection of more than 350 accordions, tracing a history that spans nearly 200 years. The exhibition follows a chronological and thematic layout. Among its halls, visitors can admire the first prototypes from the 19th century, accordions carried by soldiers during wartime, instruments played by great concert performers, and even unique custom-made models created for world-famous artists.
The visit is not just visual: educational panels, historical documents, and an audio guide offer insights into construction techniques, materials, and the cultural impact of the instrument. A large section is also dedicated to the accordion industry of Castelfidardo, which turned the town into the world capital of accordion production.
Visitor Information
The International Accordion Museum is an unmissable destination for music lovers and anyone wishing to discover the story and craftsmanship behind an instrument that shaped an entire city.
