Free museums and historic sites in Palermo: guided tours and workshops (April 25 - May 3, 2026)

Palermo opens its cultural venues: during the initiative several museums and historic sites offer free admission, guided tours and workshops aimed at families. Below are the main events and practical information to attend.

Main program

  • Museo Archeologico Regionale "Antonino Salinas" – educational visits:

    • Saturday, April 25: 10:00 and 11:30
    • Friday, May 1: repeat at 11:00
    • Saturday, May 2: repeat at 11:00
    • Sunday, May 3: visits at 10:00 and 11:30

    Sunday, May 3 at 11:00: children's clay workshop inspired by ancient Greece (family-friendly). Free admission.

  • Museo Riso – Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art:

    • Free visits "Percorsi di memoria": Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, May 3 at 11:00
    • Artist Maria Tindara Azzaro will present the installation "Staffage"
    • Saturday, April 25 at 16:00: workshop for children (ages 6-10) on shapes, signs and colors inspired by Carla Accardi
  • Chiostro dei Benedettini di Monreale – guided tours:

    • Sunday, May 3: 11:00 and 12:00 to view the medieval capitals (family-friendly route)
