Exhibitions to See: Week of April 11–17, 2026

Practical highlights for the week: a curated list of exhibitions spanning minimalist painting, photography and contemporary installations in galleries, foundations and exhibition venues.

  • Summer ’69 — Fondazione Giorgio Griffa, Turin

An exhibition celebrating Giorgio Griffa’s work on the occasion of his ninetieth birthday. The display brings together late 1960s–early 1970s paintings, period photographs and recent canvases that trace his exploration of sign, rhythm and the act of painting as a mode of knowledge.

Run: ongoing, until July 2, 2026.

  • Solo shows at Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo — Turin

From April 15 the Foundation opens four solo exhibitions by Diego Marcon, Xin Liu, Lenz Geerk and June Crespo. These projects address diverse media — experimental video, installation, contemporary painting and reflections on technological detritus.

    • Diego Marcon, Krapfen: a video work rethinking cinematic language with a disturbing, childlike mise-en-scène. Until August 2, 2026.
    • Xin Liu, EXHAUST: the artist’s first solo show in Italy, transforming industry byproducts and obsolescence into generative elements. Until October 11, 2026.
    • Lenz Geerk, Theatre of the mind: painting that stages dreamlike, unresolved scenes addressing perception and psyche. Until October 11, 2026.
    • June Crespo, Danzante: curated by Bernardo Follini, opening April 15 — check the Foundation for full run dates.
  • Other picks: the week features shows that investigate 20th-century artistic language, pioneers of abstract painting and contemporary projects that revisit Romantic and nineteenth-century legacies.
