Monumenti Aperti in Settimo San Pietro: guided visits this weekend

When: Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 May 2026. As part of the 30th edition of Monumenti Aperti, the regional schedule includes guided visits in several Sardinian municipalities, including Settimo San Pietro.

Sites to visit:

• Cuccuru Nuraxi sacred well: a Late Bronze Age monument notable for its elevated position above the water table and for an access stairway that leads into an underground tholos, a distinctive feature of the site.
• Arca del tempo (via Alagon 36): an educational and outreach centre offering a virtual journey from Prehistory to the present with reconstructions of landscapes and monuments from the greater Cagliari area.
• An archaeological collection donated to the Municipality by researcher Carlo Desogus, displayed within the Arca del tempo and opened to the public on the occasion of Monumenti Aperti.

Visitor notes: the initiative aims to highlight local archaeological heritage. Check the local programme for any updates before visiting, as regional activities are mainly scheduled in May and may resume in autumn.
