On the 2nd and 3rd of May 2026, Sassari hosted a new edition of Monumenti Aperti that drew a total of 32,688 visitors. The event highlighted the city's heritage through special openings, guided tours and activities aimed at a wide audience.
Activities ranged from nature walks (Argentiera, Lake Baratz) and rural strolls (Taniga, Logulentu) to urban routes such as the Liberty circuit in the Cappuccini district. Historic palaces hosted immersive experiences including digital installations and extended-reality content.
Schools, the university and the Academy of Fine Arts actively collaborated: students and young musicians served as guides and performers, contributing to a lively, participatory cultural programme. Popular initiatives included period-costume picnics and temporary exhibitions in historic residences.
Monumenti Aperti in Sassari proves an effective model for enhancing monumental heritage, combining guided visits, temporary events and educational projects to engage a broad public.
