Montescudaio showcases local flavours: "Borgo in Mostra" on 23–24 May 2026
The hilltop village of Montescudaio is ready for a weekend dedicated to local excellence: food and wine, tradition and culture are the focus of "Borgo in Mostra". A new official website has been launched to provide visitors and residents with practical information, a detailed program and online registration for activities.
The event, organized by the Municipality in collaboration with the Pro Loco, the DOC Wine Consortium and local associations, highlights where typical products are born: wine, extra virgin olive oil, homemade bread, cured meats and honey.
Main program
- Saturday 23 May – 15:00: guided walk "Where local products are born", exploring the rural landscape and visiting the Fratelli Agnoletto wood-fired oven to observe traditional breadmaking.
- around 17:00: institutional conference at the Emo Sarti room, Gastronomic tourism: a driver for development in Italian villages.
- evening – free tasting in the Town Square and from 21:00 dance and entertainment at the Castle Square with the historic Quadriglia della Val di Cecina.
- Sunday 24 May – from 12:00: the main street becomes an open-air food trail with street food points, producers' stalls, artisan markets and activities for children.
- Live music by Folko, the choir Dreamland Voices and a DJ set by Simon.
- Amateur cooking contest on Sunday; registrations close on Thursday 21 May.
