Montescudaio highlights local heritage with 'Borgo in Mostra'

The historic centre of Montescudaio will host an event showcasing local specialties: Borgo in Mostra, scheduled for 23 and 24 May 2026. A new official website has been launched to provide the programme, list of exhibitors and registration details for activities.

• Saturday, 23 May
  • 3:00 PM - guided walk “Where the local products are born”, including a visit to the rural landscape and a stop at the Fratelli Agnoletto wood-fired bakery to see traditional bread making;
  • 5:00 PM - conference in the Saletta Emo Sarti at the Town Hall on Food and wine tourism: a development engine for small towns;
  • evening - free tastings in Piazza del Comune and, from 9:00 PM, music and dancing at Piazzale del Castello with the Quadriglia della Val di Cecina.
• Sunday, 24 May
  • from 12:00 PM - the main street becomes a taste route with street food, producers' stalls, craft markets and children's entertainment;
  • live music featuring Folko, the Dreamland Voices choir and a DJ set by Simon;
  • amateur cooking competition on Sunday — registrations open until Thursday 21 May.

The event is organised by the Municipality together with the Pro Loco, the DOC Wine Consortium and local associations. It offers a direct look at the production chain of typical products — wine, olive oil, bread, cured meats and honey — and helps support local producers.
