On Sunday, March 29 the Sant’Albino Civic Centre in Montepulciano will host the 14th edition of the Amateur Pastry Chef Competition, an event for home pastry enthusiasts to showcase their skills in doughs, creams and decoration.

• When: Sunday, March 29 — registration and dessert drop-off from 15:30 to 16:00; judging starts at 16:00.
• Where: Sant’Albino Civic Centre, Montepulciano.
• Who can enter: open to all amateur bakers with no age limits; each entry must be presented ready for tasting and accompanied by the full recipe.
• Competition categories:
  • Heartfelt Dessert: traditional and family-favorite sweets.
  • Modern Cakes: contemporary techniques and creative designs.
  • Petit Pastry: cookies, petits fours and single-portion items.
• Jury: a panel of industry professionals — chefs, pastry chefs and food designers — will evaluate taste, technique, presentation and creativity.
