An exhibition dedicated to the Italian Twentieth Century opens in Brescia, tracing the styles and figures that shaped early 20th-century painting. Organized by the Associazione Artisti Bresciani (AAB), the show brings together around thirty works from an important local private collection.

The exhibition commemorates the centenary of the 1926 Milan exhibition promoted by Margherita Sarfatti and expands the narrative to include artists who helped define the broader context of the movement. The works on display share a tendency toward formal balance and solidity, reflecting the wider European climate of the return to order.

The display, installed in the Romanino hall, provides both stylistic and critical perspectives on a period defined by a variety of approaches and debates about modernity.
Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 4:00–7:30 PM. Closed on Easter Sunday; special opening on Easter Monday.
The exhibition is curated by Lisa Cervigni, with a catalogue edited by Valentino Rubetti and essays by Mariavittoria Facchinelli and Rubetti. Thanks are due to the lenders whose generosity has enabled public access to these works.
